I was already familiar with the isolation and unjust treatment of this young surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital and that her Palestinian birth was a central factor in that. I write as a retired trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who has had the joy and privilege of healing thousands with good teams by my side. This in spite of destructive diktats, 'policies' and actions by each of the political 'parties'.
In OUR NHS we depended a great deal on the help of doctors who were born and often trained abroad - as from India and Pakistan. Some of these were exceptional eg Magdi Yacoub, cardiac surgeon from Egypt, but there are many more. I was being assisted at an operation in Torbay hospital by a Dr Abulafi from Palestine in c. 1982. As I was 'closing up' he said 'Do you know what they are doing to us in Palestine Mr Halpin?' I have a fair idea.'You have no idea, no idea'. But I was in a demanding job which took all my time and energy.
When the planned bombing from 32,000ft by US B52s of the Afghan people started - again on a pretext and as planned before 9/11, and poor families were fleeing to the mountains to freeze to death, I knew that as a doctor who aimed 'to heal and not to harm' that I should act. I therefore put all effort and money we had saved from 'downsizing' by standing with the native people of Palestine - as mapped in my bible published during WW2. (Born 14-04-1940 Lyndhurst) So I did, and in January 2003 chartered a vessel and we set off from Haldon Quay Torbay 1-02-2003. You will learn from this that a genocide of the native people had been in train since 1947 with published, clear intent by a people who are deeply racist and 'supremacist' in their 'ideology' = hatred. So although I would not echo every word Dr Rahmeh has been quoted as saying, I agree completely with her message from her heart and out of the terrible suffering of her people whom I have got to know and respect greatly. I have been to Gaza ten times, and twice with my wife Sue of 64 years. And supervised a worthwhile charity of the same name until 2011. I learned a few days ago that a squad from London - I presume, had gone west to South Gloucester to arrest my young colleague of the healing profession. And just now that she was 'cuffed'. You should instead be 'cuffing' PM Starmer and the so called Secretary of State for Health, Mr 'Wes' Streeting. I know your force will be familiar with older members of his family in the East End. It seems very likely that it was Streeting who lent on the already greatly compromised 'General Medical Council' - Attached

Corruption in high office is near treason and anyway requires police investigation. So I ask you to focus on that and not on arresting for incarceration and much delayed 'judgement' c. 2000 fellow citizens whom I support with all moral force - as I do Palestine Action. Fact - the only body in the UK who might have limited the weapons flowing to the holocaust in Gaza is Palestine Action.

Lawless - Kelly's death has never been subject to an inquest. The 'unnatural' death of the GCHQ cryptographer Gareth Williams, seconded to MI6 and just back from the US remains as judged by the coroner Dr Fiona Wilcox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Gareth_Williams was "satisfied that on the balance of probabilities that Gareth was killed unlawfully". Quote - Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Martin Hewitt said it was theoretically possible for Williams to lower himself into the bag without touching the rim of the bath.[15] !! I presume he has been retired.
