Dear Officers,
I was already familiar with the isolation and unjust treatment of this young surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital and that her Palestinian birth was a central factor in that. I write as a retired trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who has had the joy and privilege of healing thousands with good teams by my side. This in spite of destructive diktats, 'policies' and actions by each of the political 'parties'.
In OUR NHS we depended a great deal on the help of doctors who were born and often trained abroad - as from India and Pakistan. Some of these were exceptional eg Magdi Yacoub, cardiac surgeon from Egypt, but there are many more. I was being assisted at an operation in Torbay hospital by a Dr Abulafi from Palestine in c. 1982. As I was 'closing up' he said 'Do you know what they are doing to us in Palestine Mr Halpin?' I have a fair idea.'You have no idea, no idea'. But I was in a demanding job which took all my time and energy.
When the planned bombing from 32,000ft by US B52s of the Afghan people started - again on a pretext and as planned before 9/11, and poor families were fleeing to the mountains to freeze to death, I knew that as a doctor who aimed 'to heal and not to harm' that I should act. I therefore put all effort and money we had saved from 'downsizing' by standing with the native people of Palestine - as mapped in my bible published during WW2. (Born 14-04-1940 Lyndhurst) So I did, and in January 2003 chartered a vessel and we set off from Haldon Quay Torbay 1-02-2003. It deals with our deep concern and love of one family, but this extends to the millions of families in Palestine that are facing this last and terrible convulsion of genocide - in AD 2025. This was capped by the US - with UK support, carrying out the ultimate holocausts of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. You will know that the Wehrmacht reached to within 40 miles of Moscow and that almost every Russian family lost members, there being a total loss of 22 million Russian lives.
It is symbolic that the strong fascist elements in the 'Western' nations, lead by the US, UK and Germany, have made Russia the enemy for decades now. The utter complicity of these nations/confederations in the Palestinian genocide is clear proof of fascism. I include the 'EU', lead by its non-elected and Zionist president Daktar Ursula von der Leyen. And the fascist nature of NATO - the NorthAtlantic Treaty Organisation is clear too. Consider - it leading the murdering of many, many thousands of civilians, as planned before '9/11' in Afghanistan over 3,500 miles from the Atlantic.

First to instigate an inquest for David Kelly CMG DSc. This would be very lengthy and would involve as a witness, a central figure - the war criminal Sir Anthony Blair. Secondly to use your power as our foremost law officer to stop through exercise of UK agreements eg In the Genocide Convention 1949, the holocaust in Gaza grafted on to the 77yr long genocide of the Palestinian people.
You have remained silent, as you have done for example in the face of the incarceration of fellow humans who damaged an arms factory serving genocide. I add the arrest of those who like me oppose genocide and who support Palestine Action in its lawful attempts to stop Britain feeding genocide. In a just Britain your resignation would have happened already.
The 'hour being late', you might repent and take action to prevent the murder of a family - friends of ours in Gaza, namely Mahmoud Baroud PhD Exeter, his wife Mona and their six children. I will speak of them briefly but I have known them from 2006 having met them in Gaza where I have been 10 times, and entertained them here on this beautiful edge of Dartmoor - Haytor when he was writing his thesis on 'the influence of Arabic literature on the English novel'.

A Change.org petition was received yesterday from a friend of Palestine, and of Palestine Action. It was written and started by John Mulligan on August 6th. It has gathered 331 signatures so far. The facts are more than shocking though many know we live in an illusory democracy. That quote from Orwell is apt - “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.” - George Orwell in his novel 1984.
William Plastow, a Manchester-based writer and one of the 'Filton 18' protestors, has been held in prison for over 12 months without trial for taking part in a peaceful protest at Elbit Systems in August 2024. The government want him to remain on remand for 21 months before his trial in April of 2026, despite his deteriorating health.
William is not a criminal — he is a citizen, a protestor, and a human being. His protest was non-violent and morally justified. He was part of a group challenging the UK’s arms trade and military links to Israel's assault on Gaza. For this, he has been imprisoned in harsh conditions that violate both natural justice and basic human rights.

Thieves steal food aid and sell this at astronomic prices, money dealers take a 45% commission to get shekels. These are indeed the most difficult times due to genocide, and famine. We dream night and day how to secure a little food to survive and remain alive in this unjust world.
