To Michael Buchanan & James Melley BBC ‘News’

Dear Michael and James,

I have corresponded with you before Michael - re the use of opiates in a 'geriatric warehouse' in Gosport and on another matter.

I saw your broadcast last night, and heard your additions on 'Today' today.

As a doctor, and later orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, who started training at St Mary's in 1958, I cannot lie quiet.  For this reason I stood as an independent candidate in Newton Abbot in the recent 'snap' election in which the BBC very obviously helped the eventual winner.

The NHS is in free fall and it has been planned, as you both probably know, for a long time.  In the annexe to my web site   https://dhalpin.infoaction.org.uk/election-2019
I quote third down Nicholas Ridley -

Conservative Party’s Economic Reconstruction Group

In his report to the Conservative Party’s Economic Reconstruction Group in 1977, Nicholas Ridley wrote that:
"...denationalisation should not be attempted by frontal attack but by preparation for return to the private sector by stealth. We should first pass legislation to destroy the public sector monopolies. We might also need to take power to sell assets. Secondly, we should fragment the industries as far as possible and set up the units as separate profit centres."

Most professionals in OUR NHS know this but they have been made to fear.  Others want the NHS to fail and continue to be made 'transactional' - preferably on-line and at arms length.  An ICU consultant spoke out and is quoted anonymously on my web site, and I salute him -

From a Fellow Doctor in Torbay

Dear David

In brief, I support your campaign to re-open more hospital, community and social care beds and facilities.

In my world of caring for the local population's sickest patients, we are frequently hamstrung in our efforts by the lack of the above facilities.

I am in no doubt of the negative impact on NHS patients of healthcare policies in the last decade.

Best wishes for your campaign for a better NHS. Consultant - Torbay

I have summarised the process in the few thousand hours I have spent defending the Community Hospitals as' destabilise > demoralise > dismantle'  And search 'community hospitals' on  https://dhalpin.infoaction.org.uk/     or google  ' david halpin '

The BBC report of yesterday that the potential litigation bill will be £83 billion might be the final nail.

You raise many questions and there are very few answers from those responsible.  You must interview the chairpersons of the 'Trusts' and the doctors leading the CCGs.  Both have been largely hand picked to deliver unwritten Tory diktats.  The vital CHs nationally are a good example, and the resulting obliquity of BBC coverage -

Failing interviews and likely blather (as with Schapps on Breakfast re the worst railways yesterday), in an half hour programme with the ultra thin Hancock, and with his likely evasion, interview Johnson.  The suffering and carnage is constant.

Investigate the 'stable door closing' of HMG response to the 'corona' virus.  See below. **

Ask real experts why babies are becoming SEPTICAEMIC (NOT SEPSIS) whilst in the birth canal.  I cannot recall this in our 3 months of 'midder' training.  I spent 6 weeks with two other students in our short white coats at Hillingdon.  A majority of Mums were from Pakistan - they had healthy babies with shocks of black hair.  The 4 obstetricians and gynaecologists (2 were ladies) were of the highest calibre and there was the best liaison between them and the midwives.  Chiswick Maternity Unit where I spent the next 6 weeks was isolated by traffic from the West Middx but the midwives were good.  (I am pleased to say that I helped save a young woman's life there when the kindly lady registrar broke down in the face of 'concealed accidental haemorrhage' - 4.5 pints )

I was aware of a little hostility to 'medics' amongst some midwives then, but that has grown in recent decades.  Dangerous - when each, with Mums, are complimentary.

You said in your report that the consultant obstetricians had at some time refused to come in and read the notes.  Your question then as journalists should have been - 'where was the GMC?'  The answer might have been - persecuting Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba. along with a preponderance of other 'coloured' doctors in OUR NHS.  They should have been sacked on the spot if the truth was that.  Leadership on the bridges of NHS ships is as vital as on the seas.  Attached.

I demand that the BBC - 'Nation shall Speak Peace unto Nation' !!! interview 'topple Assad' Johnson - PM in a 'one nation government'.

**  To Hugh Pym (replied) and Fergus Walsh.  Copy of comment by me on Medscape yesterday at 7.30 am.  Mine was to be the first comment - BUT I SEE MEDSCAPE HAS NOT POSTED IT.  WHY NOT? Only one 'techy' comment on a current and important topic?-

(Dr. Mike Licudi   Just FYI: 'real time' PCR is abbreviated 'qPCR' (q for quantitative). The abbreviation 'RT-PCR' refers to 'reverse-transcriptase PCR'. In this case, it is RT-qPCR that's being used.)

The 'enhanced' symptom-based health screening of passengers will be conducted at San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles airports, which receive most of the passengers from Wuhan."  GB worse.

'Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted'.  All know that viruses are exchanged on aircraft, especially with the re-circulation of cabin air - done for reasons of 'economy' for the airline.

Reminiscent of the absence of any quarantine of British humanitarians returning from caring for Ebola victims in Sierra Leone.

China coronavirus:
'Increased likelihood' of cases in the UK: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51221915

Quotes:"It is likely to be several days before tests will confirm whether they have contracted coronavirus or not".

HanCOCK  He added: "The UK is one of the first countries to have developed a world-leading test for the new coronavirus."   So it will 'take several days' to detect ?  At Porton Down?
